After receiving a few entries, we have noticed a few things and the admins have agreed to a set of guidelines regarding Cosplay entries and what we will judge on them. Please, don't take offense at these. We aren't targeting anyone, and they're just general guidelines we'd like people to follow if they want to submit their Cosplay pictures, for future reference and to uphold the quality control we have on our art submissions.

:bulletred: First and foremost, this goes in the craftsmanship/Other Media section, so the costume and/or props have to be done by you. No, "My mom/dad/sister/friend/dog did it for me!". NO EXCEPTIONS. DONE BY YOU. You can get help from friends or familiars on the costume and/or props but give them credit. Don't try to take credit for things you didn't do (namely props). Believe me, some of the admins here are avid cosplay fans/critiquers and they can TELL when you didn't do something most of the time. Save yourself the grief of being rejected if we find out you're taking credit for something you didn't do. Even if you did the costume and not the props, if you take credit for the props, you get rejected. No thieving or lying.

:bulletred: We prefer to receive submissions by the cosplayers themselves, but we open expections to cosplayer photographers if the photograph is really good and the original cosplayer is credited.

:bulletred: If we're dubious on the nature of your props/costume, we will ask for progress descriptions WITH PICTURES. Anyone can copy paste a tutorial from the internet. We have a no-tolerance policy for people who take credit of others' work. You've been warned.

:bulletred: Photography. We have to SEE the cosplay. No faraway shots where the cosplay is barely discernible. We understand that you want us to see the beauty of the landscape, but it's a craftmanship section you're submitting to, so beautiful landscape shots won't help your chances much since we can't see your costume all that well from the distance and will get you an instant decline. We need to judge your craftsmanship, let us see your cosplay.

:bulletred: For fairness and to keep up with the quality level in our gallery, if possible, make the photographs artistic. No random/blurry/grainy/dusty convention shots someone took with a digital camera. IF possible, they must be taken from a special photo shoot, or by a good cosplay photographer to guarantee quality in the shot and execution.

:bulletred: We won't be super picky with this one but just something to take into account and give brownie points for.... IN CHARACTER POSES/SITUATIONS. No "DERP IM POSING IN THE MIDDLE OF MY LIVING ROOM SMILING AT THE CAMERA" shots. Even semi-in character, we don't care, but nothing overly OOC. We're not looking for models either but if the character doesn't look that flattering on you, it just won't work. No offense. There's other cosplays groups out there if you feel we're being too strict. :)

Thank you for your understanding.

It would be helpful to include information as to why somebody was rejected. I feel mine met all of your basic requirements, but both were rejected and i would like more information as to why so i may improve in the future.
